GRIBSKOV STUDENT VILLAGE
In this project, we did not remove any soil or waste from the construction site, and did not use a single gram of concrete. Production, building maturation and construction took only 3 months from start to move-in and can thus be characterized as the fastest major housing construction in Danish history! In addition, we have used screw foundations that are produced from 75% recycled steel in a solar-powered factory and can stand for more than 100 years and even moved several times as well as we have planted organic flowers, plants, herbs and trees.
3 rainwater lakes take care of the rainwater from buildings and the area without flooding the sewage systems.Aesthetics and society are at the forefront with special wood-based modules, designed and built from scratch. Each student has at least 18 m2 / 45 m3 with private bathroom, toilet and kitchen, heat pump and fully furnished accommodation as well as large common terraces and roof terraces. On the large natural grounds there are path systems, fire pits, lounge furniture and space for bicycles and fun. The student accommodation can be made in all sizes to suit whatever needs, indoor and outdoor.
Students in the North Atlantic High School class at Gribskov Gymnasium can live in one of Nova Tegra's furnished homes in the student village right next to the high school. Here, young people from Iceland, Greenland, the Faroe Islands and Denmark live in a local community in 30 sustainable and unique architect-designed homes on a scenic plot a few hundred meters from the high school.
Since its construction, the student village has been seen as an innovative and sustainable statement about how to establish homes and embracing communities in a short time and with relatively little money. All 30 student homes are independent and fully furnished and were ready to move into back in August 2019.
With only eight months of total process, including 3 months from design to production and setup in August 2019, Nova Tegra created Denmark's fastest housing project from the first line to move in, and has delivered a proof of concept that combines sustainability, low construction costs and optimal frameworks for quality of life.
