SUMMERHOUSE KULHUSE

Our first summerhouse of 76 m2 was designed and developed in just 6 months.

It is set outside on sustainable screw foundations, consisting of 75% recycled steel and produced in a factory that runs 100% on solar energy. We are located on a beautiful natural site in Kulhuse with the maintenance-free Burnt Wood on facades and terrace decks; the 800-year-old Japanese conservation method, where the outer ice of the tree is burned, which was also used by the Vikings.

Inside, both ceilings and walls are covered with the beautiful raw birch veneer, which is also used for, among other things, loft and beds. All windows and doors are made with black frames, as are sockets, heat pump and kitchen plinth. The kitchen itself, bathroom furniture and cupboards in the house are made of hand-picked oak. The simple plan of the house is enhanced by the architectural feature of the meeting of the 2 wooden modules; a skylight window that enriches both, children's room, bathroom and living room. The terrace is approx. 90 m2 and will later be expanded by approx. 50 m2 so that it is tied together with a future 27 m2 annex in the same style. The outdoor lamps have a brass surface and light both up and down. The house has as many as 5 exit doors, from most rooms and from the bathroom to an outdoor bath on the terrace deck at the back of the house. The large sliding door to the garden is a double one of its kind, which provides an opening of a full 2.5 m.

The screw foundations were installed in just a few days and the house itself in just 3½ hours with a crane! In less than 1 week, the house can therefore be put into use with very few neighbors as a result. They hardly notice it, as if it had landed by helicopter on a day when they were not at home.

The holistic way of thinking permeates both our thoughts, drawings and construction.
